Capture Rates

Capture, escape, and avoidance rates when mist-netting songbirds

Mist nets are a common tool used for capturing birds at migratory stopover sites. However, studies investigating the proportion of birds that are able to escape or avoid nets are lacking. Our work seeks to collect behavioral observations of songbirds near mist nets to investigate what factors influence rates of capture, escape, and avoidance with mist nets.
