Field Sites

Appledore Island
I have volunteered with the Appledore Island Migration Station since 2003. I thoroughly enjoy the amazing volunteers that I have been lucky to work with over the years. Appledore Island is home of the Shoals Marine Lab which hosts summer courses ranging from Field Ornithology to Ecology and the Marine Environment.

Johnson's Bayou
Located in coastal Louisiana, Johnson's Bayou has been a field site of the Migratory Bird Research Group at USM since 1993. I have worked there since 2011 and have been able to work with some great, hard-working, and interesting field techs during this time.

Schoodic Peninsula
During 2006 and 2007 I spent the fall migratory seasons studying birds at Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia National Park. See below for our publication of that work. (Can you find the hummingbird in the picture?)
